Wide forests of Gorjanci and the beauties of nature

The chances for riding are enormous. Riding through wide
beech, elm, maple and oak forests of Gorjanci hills, along forest pathes, is an incredible experience. The riders can choose more highland pathes or lowland roads.

2-day riding tours:

Trdinov vrh hill(3770 feet): From our stud farm we ride first the lowlands and than crossing Gorjanci hills we arrive to our highland pastures, where we take a rest and have a meal. Than we cross elm, maple, oak and birch woods as well as open meadows. After 4-5 riding hours we finally reach the barn at St. Miklavž town, where we have a picnic. Next day we continue and cross the mountains, achieving the Trdinov vrh hill and descend than back to the farm.

Highland pastures and Šentjernej valley: We are riding across Šentjernej valley, discovering the cultural heritage and sights. After 3-4 hours we reach the highland pastures and stop at the Maria`s farm. Next day we ride through the forests of the Gorjanci hills, across Šentjernej fields towards our farm.

Cultural heritage and sights discovered from a horseback:

Chartusian monastery Pleterje: Pleterje Charterhouse is the only Carthusian monastery in Slovenia today. Nestled in the foothills of the Gorjanci hills, its history is closely tied to Slovenia's own. The riding tour takes about 1-2 hours. It is possible to get presentation and "multivision" of Charthusians life.

Open air museum: : In vicinity of the Pleterje monastery there is an open air museum. It presents the homestead as it appears 200 years ago. The riding tour takes 1-2hours. It is possible to visit it.

Kostanjevica cave: Riding tour for 3-4 hours, mainly across open meadows and deciduous forests. It is also possible to take a look of the cave.

Castles: There are more than 4 medieval castles in our surroundings. It is possible to take a look of them from horseback.

View points: Ržišče- after 2 hours riding tour there is a beautiful view over the Šentjernej valley.
